Wordpress - a great tool for new affiliates
Why re-inventing the wheel? Good question, Wordpress has millions of developers of extensions and themes. What you are looking for has probably already been developed and available just a google search away. Need a something for your latest promotion, a city guide with google maps or a youtube like site? There are WP-themes for everything.
The evolution of online publishing is getting mature. Flickr is used for pictures, Youtube or Vimeo for videos, Digg for bookmarks etc etc. There's no longer a need to develop these features in-house, its norm that you would use these accepted methods plus you’re doing social marketing by adding your content.
